About Solid Design Studios
After graduating in 2002 with a degree in journalism, Megan Wiley spent a decade working as a magazine editor and writer, covering style and small business, among other topics. All the while, she kept one foot in fashion retail, working for some of the Twin Cities' most revered boutiques. She started Solid Design Studios in 2012 when a natural impulse emerged to make contemporary jewelry to complement the apparel and accessories in which she had immersed herself. Made from sterling silver and 14-karat gold-filled metals, semiprecious stones and supple leathers, Megan's jewelry embraces an aesthetic that glides between classic and fashion-forward, translating seamlessly from day to evening. Each piece is made by hand in Minnesota and many are named after Twin Cities streets or landmarks.
