About Forestedge Winery
Forestedge Winery produces award-winning wines made from the fruits and berries that survive the winters of northern Minnesota, rather than using grapes.

The wines range from dry to sweet, sure to provide something for everyone. The wines are made from blueberries, raspberries, black currants, apples, cranberries and their signature rhubarb. Rhubarb is grown on the grounds of Forestedge Winery and serves as their vineyard. Rhubarb creates a wonderful white wine similar to a dry German white wine or Sauvignon Blanc. Rhubarb wine is also used to create a number of different wine blends. The winery does not use any oak so as to not mask the wonderful flavors of the fruit.

The winery includes a tasting room, where you can try a flight of wine to find your favorite, and a gallery. Bottle sales are available at the winery. Wines are also distributed to liquor stores in Minnesota and can be purchased by residents in Minnesota from their website (forestedgewinery.com). Wines can only be shipped to addresses in Minnesota.

About Steve

Steve Twait and his wife Kristin purchased Forestedge Winery in March 2016. They had been making wine as a hobby for many years in their home in the Twin Cities after receiving a wine kit from a friend for Christmas. After years in the corporate world Steve's position was eliminated and pushed the couple to explore what their next steps would be. After some self-examination the couple decided an entrepreneurial pursuit would be best for them. They looked at starting a business or purchasing a business. After several months, they decided purchasing Forestedge Winery was what was meant to be.

With the purchase of the winery, they moved to northern Minnesota in the heart of one the state's premier vacation areas and have since honed their wine making skills to continue the tradition of producing award-winning wines from Forestedge Winery. Since taking over the winery in 2016 they have been awarded 200+ (and counting) medals at various International Wine Competitions. The winery, which was started in 1999, is enjoying its 25th year of operation.
