Founded by Kristine Jenson in 2017, Jenson Natural Jewelry helps spread the legacy of Kristine's niece, Devon Jenson, who was born in 2000 with a rare heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Sadly, Devon passed away in 2003 but her story continues to inspire hope to those around the world. Additionally, Kristine donates 10% of her business profits to Children's Hospital MN in Devon's memory, along with other non-profits she cares about such as Minnesota Public Radio, QueerSpace Collective, and Catkins Animal Rescue.
About Kristine
Kristine found her calling while studying at the University of Minnesota in the 1990s. She received her B.S. in Natural Resources & Environmental Studies and has made a career out of protecting and enhancing water resources throughout Minnesota while working for the MN Department of Natural Resources, Watershed Districts, and the consulting firm Resilience Resources, LLC.
In 2016, Kristine began a hobby out of making jewelry using natural stones and crystals. After friends and family asked her repeatedly to make pieces for them, she decided to create a business but wanted to make it be about more than just "selling stuff". As a regular practitioner of yoga and meditation, she took time to ask for guidance and was immediately given the message to make the business be about sharing the story of her beloved niece Devon. Devon was born in 2000 with a rare heart defect and fought for 3.5 years to survive. The doctors, nurses, and staff at Children's Hospital MN became part of the family during that time and continue to stay in contact, even to this day. When Jenson Natural Jewelry began, the primary goal was to make sure the legacy of Devon Jenson continued.
Devon's face and her story has reached those around the world from Japan to New Zealand to near the Arctic Circle. She uses Jenson Natural Jewelry as a vehicle to spread kindness and compassion along with her beautiful bracelets, necklaces, and earrings.
After being a lifelong resident of the Twin Cities, she moved to the woods of northern Wisconsin in 2023 where she lives with her husband, 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 4 chickens. She is always trying to convince her husband to adopt more animals. She is extremely proud to say her youngest daughter is now a student at the U of M, studying to become a Civil Engineer.
